Open Letters and Musings

I had some thoughts on my mind today about having children with a severely disordered person. You may read my words to the wise here.

Friday April 21st, 2016

Dear Meneia,

After my children spoke of their experiences with you and the lessons you taught, I understood how you equated love with betrayal.

I will now be more discerning with whom I trust.

Heal. There is no shame in truth.

Sincerely,

Angelina

Dearest LaToya,

I now express deep gratitude to you for your openness and concern. You are a force and I hope that you will have periods of rest and reprieve between battles.

We are reminded of you daily by the gift of care you endowed us with.

You are not alone. I send you a strong hug from afar.

Warmest Regards,

Angelina Villa

Dear Tavia,

You made a deep impression on the three of us when you came to visit. I hold you in high regard and see so much good coming your way. Keep us in your prayers as we pray for you and your son.

Forgive them. There is much life to live yet.

With love,

Angel

Dear Erin,

My soul sister from another mister. I cannot thank you enough for your undying love and support. It runs deep and felt across space and time.

We are all connected. By healing, we have done what we came here to do, and we affect all.

Keep shining my friend.

With Love,

Angel

Dear World,

“There is no need to run outside for better seeing, nor peer from a window, rather abide at the center of your being: For the more you leave it the less you learn”…LaoTzu

This quote struck a chord with me today. I had to share it.

Warm regards,

Angelina Villa

Dear Family and Friends,

We miss you so much.

I did not withdraw from contact and involvement in your lives because of want, but for safe refuge under duress.

This displacement is temporary, but our support and care for one another will be ongoing.

Warm Regards,

Angelina Villa

Dear Mama,

I would not be who I am today without you.

I may have expressed annoyance at your optimistic view in the darkest moments, but you knew exactly what I needed to hear to keep from sinking under the weight of sadness.

I will offer the strength and encouragement you’ve offered me.

Thank you. We are OK.

With Love,

Angie

Dear Peggy,

I am sorry for all that you have endured.

The generational cycle of abuse ends here.

It is never too late to begin again.

With Love,

Angelina

Bobby,
If you come to mind, so does the scripture Mark 8:36 “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? “

Because I seek peace over earthly comforts, you are exposed.
Go your way. You will reap what you have sown.

Sincerely,
Angelina Villa

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

– Frederick Douglass

“It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”

Luke 17:2

“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody.”

Romans 12:17

“Be brave, be strong, be true. That’s all that you can do.”
